SARA VAN HECKE’S MUSIC IS LIKE BEING ON THE ROAD TO NOWHERE WITH THE WIDOWS ROLLED DOWN.
Her songs play on the waves of nature, a deep breath embedded in her songwriting, and somehow blurs the line between bright and moody. With verses that are close to the heart, and sweeping choruses that transport you somewhere else, her songs explore the colors of her mind. Enchanted by Chicago’s skyscrapers and vibrant music scene as a young singer-songwriter, Sara is now planted in the Front Range drawing inspiration from Colorado’s western landscapes and tight-knit mountain folk community.
After moving to Colorado Springs, Sara released her freshman album “Sun Soul” on the Summer Solstice of 2022. She has performed locally at music festivals such as the Folk 'n' Flannel festival and the Hillside Gardens concert series. She also performs regularly at local watering holes such as Lumen8 Rooftop Social, The Mining Exchange hotel, Bancroft Park, and Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort. Sara made her debut on the TEDx stage showcasing her original tunes with Manitou Springs’ TEDx chapter in February 2025 and will be returning to the TEDx stage this September. In the summers of 2024 and 2025, Sara brought her songs to the road and toured through the Midwest and Pacific Northwest. Sara’s newest single ‘I’m Already Gone’ is the first of her upcoming album ‘Moon Dance’ which will be released single by single in 2026.
Sara has over 15 years of performing, songwriting and recording experience and draws inspiration from artists like Fleet Foxes, Norah Jones and Brandi Carlile. Intentionally crafting set lists of original songs as well as a mix of folk, indie, Americana and jazz covers - Sara sets the ultimate raw and dreamy vibe.
